Well if you haven’t heard David and I bought a home in Spanish Fork and we moved in last Saturday. We also bought a Yorkie puppy on Halloween and named her Boo.
It feels so surreal that we own a home… and a puppy for that matter. David and I feel like a guest in our home, because it hasn't quite sunk in that we actually live there. Each day it gets easier to settle in and it’s becoming less and less of a disaster.
It’s also very strange for me to be back in Spanish Fork, driving down Main Street or going to Macey’s…etc. I am flooded with memories form my past. I had some good times growing up there.
So here are some things I have learned through our experience thus far…
1. My Mom loves me!- We closed on our home on Halloween and right after signing the paper work we went to look at puppies at the animal shelter “just for fun” and we ended up liking Boo. The only problem is that we couldn’t move to our home until that weekend and we aren’t allowed to have pets at our apartment. My Mom was really nice and babysat her grand-puppy. J Not only did my mom babysit but she slept in my brother’s bed with Boo and Lucky. If you know my mom, you know that she does NOT sleep with the dogs and that was a true act of love!!
2.I still like soda- I had a goal to not drink soda for a full year as of November 2010. I was able to accomplish my goal and it couldn't have come at a better time for me to indulge in Pepsi during those stressful days. Yes I still like soda, but I think I will try and go for another year now that I have splurged for a week.
3.David is a Man and I am a Woman- I know this is a given… but we had some classic moments where I clearly meant one thing and he understood it totally differently. When I say car… it can mean anything that is drivable with wheels, which include Trailer, Truck…etc. J Why can’t Men read our minds?!
4.We have a lot of crap- I felt like I was packing for days!!
5. I get massive A.D,D when I don’t get enough sleep- which makes for a very long day at work.
6. Puppies are perfect practice for parenthood- It’s been interesting becoming puppy parents and learning how David and I work together to take care of another living creature. We have to come to an agreement on how to discipline and how to teach our puppy to go potty. I really enjoy working with David and being a team with him and hopefully Boo is happy to be apart of our family.
7. I am blessed- I know with out a doubt that heavenly father loves me! I am filled with so much gratitude and awe that I am blessed with so much! Not just physical things like a home... but I have an amazing family that were so willing to come and help, I have a very wonderful husband that works hard to provide for us, and I have peace that we are where we need to be.
I am really excited about what the future holds for us and what memories we can create in our new home. I hope that I can use our blessing to bless those around us and hopefully our home will be a place of refuge from a scary world, I hope I can raise a strong and wonderful family there, and that it will be a home of love and filled with the spirit.
These things I have learned... and I can't wait to learn more!
I will post pictures as soon as it is looking a little more presentable.

Having a puppy is a lot of work! And it really is good parenting practice. Eric and I got a dog a year ago and it has been a fun distraction until having a baby comes along...ps. I'm pregnant :) yay!
