Easter Family Home Evening

Although David and I don't have kids, I've been trying to find things that we can make in to traditions for our family. I always see cute fun things that other families are doing and think "oh I wish I could do that... when we have kids.." but then I decided that we don't have to wait to have kids to be a family and to have traditions.

I've been seeing and Easter egg hunt around other peoples blogs that is focused on Christ so I decided to make one.

Each egg has an object in it along with a scripture that goes along with the Easter story... this is what I did...
Matthew 26:14-15- Three Dimes

Matthew 26:17-29 – Sacrament Cup

Matthew 26: 36-56- Flower

Matthew 27:1-2- Rope or Twine

Matthew 27: 24-26- Soap

Matthew 27:28-30- Scarlet Robe and Thorns

Matthew 27: 30 nail

Luke 23:46 & Matthew 27:50-51 Small rock

Matthew 27:57-59 White Clothe

Matthew 27: 60 & 65-66 A stone

Mark 16:1 & Matthew 28: 2-5 Herbs

Matthew 28:6 Empty

He is not here: for he is risen!

It turned out really well, We invited My parents and Sister and also Davids mom over. (THANKS EMILY FOR THE IDEA!!)

I am really excited to do this every year now for our Easter family home evening. It helped me focus on the true meaning of easter this year.
