For the lovers...

I made this felt garland for Valentines day. I really love how it turned out. I found my inspiration on pinterest, don't you love that site?

For Valentines day, David and I went and got a couples massage and I made a nice dinner that evening. It was a nice Valentines and I am happy that I have an eternal companion that I can call my Valentine. He is the Best!

Our House

I finally got off my lazy bum and took some pictures of our new home. However I didn't take pictures of every room because A) I haven't decorated and our bathrooms look like any other plan boring bathroom. B) Our Master bedroom is a disaster and I would rather not share that with you.
Outside

Living room

Kitchen

Office.

It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with an unfinished basement. It's perfect for us and we really enjoy the neighborhood and being home owners.

Initially I thought that as soon as I owned my home I would paint all the walls and such, but that hasn't happened yet. All the walls are a nice tan color though, so it's not the boring white walls you get when you are renting.

I have yet to put anything up on the walls yet, I have the best ideas floating around in my head. I just have to get the funding and do it! I be sure to post pictures of my adventurers of being a home owner.

One adventure is that our bathroom sink was clogged. You no longer can call the landlord to take care of that. I got sick of waiting for David to take care of it, so I watched a how-to video on youtube and was "Mrs. Fix-it". I was pretty proud of myself, even if it was a VERY gross job and I would rather not do that again!

Well Hello 2012...

Here's an updated family picture of David and I. Renee took them and I think she did a great job! The first one was a funny picture we did for our parents Christmas present. I think I thought it was funnier (I know that's not a real word ;)) than anyone else did.

Today is "Happy Hooters day", see this post. David and I didn't technically start dating on "Hooters day" but we've either talked to, or seen each other everyday since that fateful night. And since I don't really know when we "started" dating because we always just "hung out" and our relationship just kind of morphed in to one stage into the next, I count it as the day we started dating. FIVE YEARS AGO!

Yes I am a hopeless romantic, like that.

Today we are taking it pretty low key. It's Thursday, which is breakfast for dinner night at our house. So I made coffee cake, which is one of David favorite and I am just waiting for him to get home from work.

I can't believe that in July we will be coming up on our 5th wedding anniversary.

I love that boy!

PS I have good feelings about 2012, this year is going to ROCK!

What buying a home and a puppy in the same week will teach you…

Well if you haven’t heard David and I bought a home in Spanish Fork and we moved in last Saturday. We also bought a Yorkie puppy on Halloween and named her Boo.

It feels so surreal that we own a home… and a puppy for that matter. David and I feel like a guest in our home, because it hasn't quite sunk in that we actually live there. Each day it gets easier to settle in and it’s becoming less and less of a disaster.

It’s also very strange for me to be back in Spanish Fork, driving down Main Street or going to Macey’s…etc. I am flooded with memories form my past. I had some good times growing up there.

So here are some things I have learned through our experience thus far…

1. My Mom loves me!- We closed on our home on Halloween and right after signing the paper work we went to look at puppies at the animal shelter “just for fun” and we ended up liking Boo. The only problem is that we couldn’t move to our home until that weekend and we aren’t allowed to have pets at our apartment. My Mom was really nice and babysat her grand-puppy. J Not only did my mom babysit but she slept in my brother’s bed with Boo and Lucky. If you know my mom, you know that she does NOT sleep with the dogs and that was a true act of love!!

2.I still like soda- I had a goal to not drink soda for a full year as of November 2010. I was able to accomplish my goal and it couldn't have come at a better time for me to indulge in Pepsi during those stressful days. Yes I still like soda, but I think I will try and go for another year now that I have splurged for a week.

3.David is a Man and I am a Woman- I know this is a given… but we had some classic moments where I clearly meant one thing and he understood it totally differently. When I say car… it can mean anything that is drivable with wheels, which include Trailer, Truck…etc. J Why can’t Men read our minds?!

4.We have a lot of crap- I felt like I was packing for days!!

5. I get massive A.D,D when I don’t get enough sleep- which makes for a very long day at work.

6. Puppies are perfect practice for parenthood- It’s been interesting becoming puppy parents and learning how David and I work together to take care of another living creature. We have to come to an agreement on how to discipline and how to teach our puppy to go potty. I really enjoy working with David and being a team with him and hopefully Boo is happy to be apart of our family.

7. I am blessed- I know with out a doubt that heavenly father loves me! I am filled with so much gratitude and awe that I am blessed with so much! Not just physical things like a home... but I have an amazing family that were so willing to come and help, I have a very wonderful husband that works hard to provide for us, and I have peace that we are where we need to be.

I am really excited about what the future holds for us and what memories we can create in our new home. I hope that I can use our blessing to bless those around us and hopefully our home will be a place of refuge from a scary world, I hope I can raise a strong and wonderful family there, and that it will be a home of love and filled with the spirit.

These things I have learned... and I can't wait to learn more!

I will post pictures as soon as it is looking a little more presentable.

Home Sick

Today I am feeling home sick for heaven. Please do not take this the wrong way, I don't want to die any time soon and I have a fabulous life here! I just miss my babies and I am jealous that they get to be in heaven with out their Mommy.

Infertility is a *#&&^%&# (please insert any cuss word)!!

With that being said, I have felt a lot of peace and comfort lately and I know that Heavenly Father hears my prayers daily.

He has put people in my life lately that have made me stronger and have been a wonderful support system to me. These people have blessed my life and have opened my heart and eyes more than they will ever know.

We were finally able to get health insurance and have started on the path on finding out what is really going on with my body. Most days this path feel VERY long... but at least we are on the path and moving forward.
I went to the doctor and had a fun ultrasound (not really, but at least I didn't pee on the doctor, which was my main fear) they found a few cyst on my left ovary, and I need to repeat the fun ultrasound in 4-6 weeks to see if the cyst go away on their own.

I also had a really cool experience with my Stake President while going in to renew my temple recommend. I wont go in to too much detail... but I know that he is called of God and feel re-energized in my faith and committed to do all I can do to become closer to my Heavenly Father.

Summer Love & Updates...

Wow it's been a long time since I last wrote on here... I doubt anyone even stops by much :(

I have to admit, I have a crush on Summer and everything that goes along with it! I love the warm sun, water fights, picnics, outdoor plays, camping (which we still need to do this summer), bon fires, star gazing, Sunday movie nights, family vacations... and the list goes on! I LOVE all of IT!

Although I feel like life has gotten in the way and we have been too busy. I have spent way too much time wasting away my favorite time of the year. The warm summer days are going to be coming to a close soon and winter will be here before we know it. BOO!

But all that aside let me give you an update on what we have been up too...

June-
David and I enjoyed going to the Parade of Homes. We try and go every year. I love it, and I think David tolerates it and knows if he goes he will get a few extra brownie points. Plus we don't have to think of what we want to do for date night.

My Sister, Mom, Aunts, and I threw Dan's wife to be, Ashley her bridal shower... Somewhere there are pictures but I can't seem to find them. It turned out well I thought.

My Family went to Park City for the weekend, Thanks to Dan and his generous Christmas gift. It was a much needed trip... due to our apartment flooding a couple of days before hand. (That was a nightmare!)

I started working up in West Jordan to train to be the financial aid adviser for the Orem School once we qualify for Financial aid. I hate driving up there, and financial aid and government loans are confusing, but I feel like I am starting to get the hang of it.

July-
We camped out for the 4th of July parade... I think I am getting too old for that! But it was still a lot of fun! We also enjoyed a picnic up by the temple and fireworks. I LOVE THE 4TH!

David and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on the 14th. We went out to eat at Tucanos, and we went up to Park City for the weekend for a short get away.

My Brother Dan got Married on the 28th, it was a great day!

And I turned 28 on the 30th of July! For my birthday we went to Thanksgiving point gardens with My mom, Dad, Sister Ashlee, and sister in-law Erika. We also went out to eat a Texas Road House.

August-
Dan and Ashley had their open house at Lisa and Jeff's house on the 6th of August. I helped decorate and I think it went well. They had an ice cream bar, it was yummy! It was fun to see alot of people that we don't get to see on a regular bases.

For My Mom & My birthday we went to Sundance and saw the "Sound of Music" as a family. It was a fun night!

We had a Smith Family vacation. The first night we stayed in Jackson Hole, which I thought was alot of fun. We drove through the Grand Tetons and down to Rexburg Idaho. The Tetons are gorgeous! We also stopped in Swan Valley to get square ice cream cones.. which turned out to be more eventful than just ice cream (let's just put it at that). We stayed at Kent and Misty's home in Rexburg and had lots of fun. One day we played games out in the yard... like Cheeto head, and a potato relay game that got everyone laughing. (I need to find pictures)

And that's about it so far!

*I tried getting some pictures on here... but it's not working, so I will try again soon.
